About Us

Laurel Eiler is currently a Cape San Blas Resident Wannabe. A Florida native, Laurel grew up in tiny Englewood, Florida, the daughter of a construction foreman who built homes on Boca Grande and a bank teller at the local Englewood Bank and Trust. Although it can't be proven, it's suspected salt water flows through her veins, and Laurel's past employment included stints at Mercury Marine and Murray Chris Craft (boats and motors).

A court reporter since 1987, Laurel and her husband of 18 years, Rich, moved to Nashville from Sarasota, Florida, in 1991. A partner in Accurate Court Reporting, Laurel loves the legal profession and her clients, but her heart still belongs to Cape San Blas, its beaches, sunsets and crystal clear gulf.  Laurel began managing her own rental properties in 2006 and launched www.RentalsCapeSanBlas.com at that time.  She divides her time between the Cape and Nashville with Rich, their two teenagers, Richard and Sydney, and their two Schnauzers, Gabby and Schultz.

Wendy Jackson is one of the most successful individual property owners/rental managers on the Cape.  Wendy's main website, www.TheCapeEscape.com is one of the highest ranked and most successful sites devoted to Cape San Blas vacation rentals in existence.    Wendy's been renting to satisfied guests on the Cape since 2004, and her properties are always in high demand.

Wendy and her husband, John, live in Roswell, Georgia, with their two children, JP and Emily.   Wendy left a high-level career in the business world to raise her children several years ago.  The purchase of their first vacation rental came at the perfect time for Wendy to begin to use some of her considerable marketing and public relations talents to manage it herself -- and obviously she hit the ground running!

Wendy and Laurel met through mutual friend and fellow Barrier Dunes owner, Susan Wright.  They discovered lots of common interests and ideas and both wanted to run clean, well-stocked, attractive, pet-friendly rentals.  Wendy and Laurel have spent a lot of time discussing their philosophies about how to treat their rental guests and what sets a great rental property apart from the others.  They discovered their ideals and goals for meeting their guests' vacation expectations were so compatible that they've been working closely together ever since.

This website is their first "official" joint venture after months of comfortable and friendly collaboration.   Wendy and Laurel work hard to help any guest find the perfect Cape vacation rental, answer questions about things to do in the area, where to eat in Port St. Joe or Apalachicola where you can bring your dog -- just about anything a guest needs a hand with, they'll try to tackle!

Both Wendy and Laurel love the Cape and want to someday call it their full-time home.  Fishing, shelling, bonfires on the beach, and spending time with their families and dogs at the Cape is what they both would call a day in paradise.  If you come to the Cape, you'll see what they mean!
